Howlite

Howlite is a mineral containing calcium borosilicate hydroxide mineral. Howlite is a gemstone. Its color is white or brownish with black veins throughout. Some even refer to Howlite as being White Buffalo turquoise.

Because Howlite is a soft gemstone much like turquoise and has beautiful veining it takes dye quite well and is used to imitate other gemstones such as turquoise or lapis. Buyers beware of fake turquoise.

Howlite is believed to be a calming stone and many use it to relieve stress.
